Off Road Tire Installation in Mesquite for Your Bronco or 4Runner

A set of 33s or 35s bolted to a Bronco or 4Runner is not the same as a stock tire swap. The wheel is heavier, the leverage on the suspension is greater, and the backspacing geometry matters more than most people realize until something starts rubbing. Off road tire installation requires attention to fitment, not just mounting and balancing. The brake caliper, the upper control arm, and the inner fender liner all move through their range of travel, and a tire that fits perfectly on a rack can rub the fender when you turn the wheel lock to lock. We check that before we call the job done.

The Ford Bronco and Toyota 4Runner both come from the factory with tires that prioritize ride quality and highway manners, but neither vehicle is limited to stock sizing. On a Bronco, the factory Sasquatch package clears 35-inch tires with the right wheel offset, while a non-Sasquatch model will fit 33s with a small lift or sometimes without one, depending on the year. The 4Runner is similar. The TRD Pro and TRD Off Road trims have wheel wells that accommodate 33s from the factory, while most other trims need a modest suspension lift to clear a 33-inch tire without rubbing. Larger than 33s on a 4Runner typically requires a body lift, a suspension lift, or both. We talk through this with every customer before we touch a wheel.

When you bring your Bronco or 4Runner in, we verify the wheel specs against your chosen tire. The bolt pattern for both is 6x139.7, and the difference is in offset and backspacing. We mount the tire using a tire machine with a swing arm or tower, never a budget bead blaster that can damage the sidewall of a mud terrain tire, and we balance every wheel on a road force balancer to catch imbalances that a standard spin balancer misses. We check the TPMS sensors, installing compatible sensors or using a bypass program depending on what your vehicle needs, and we test fit the assembly on the vehicle at full turn, full compression, and full extension.

We stock sizes that fit the Bronco and 4Runner from manufacturers like BFGoodrich, Goodyear, and Cooper, and we can order other brands if you have a preference. The visit starts with a quick walk around. We want to see the wheels you plan to run, or we can help you pick a tire that matches how you use the vehicle. If you need a suspension kit or a wheel spacer to make the fitment work, we tell you that upfront. Most off road tire installations on these vehicles take two to three hours, and we give you a written estimate before we start.

Off road tires are heavier and louder than street tires, and they wear faster if you drive them on pavement full time, so bring the wheels if you already have them, and if you are buying new let us know the size and offset. We can talk through those tradeoffs so the tire you choose matches how you actually drive. Common questions we get: some Bronco trims clear 35s with the right offset but most need at least a small lift, and most 4Runners from 2010 onward fit 33s with a 2-inch lift. We coordinate any lift and the tire installation so the alignment and clearance are correct when we finish.
